This spring I purchased a hds8 gen 2. Got it home and after a week or so put it on my boat. The unit itself works great however about my 4th or 5th time out I took the screen cover off and noticed a small spot on the lower left hand corner. At first it was about a .5 inch out and a inch up along the side. kinda irritated to look at but at the time nothing I could do. Figured I would fish with it this year and send it in to get fixed however the spot has grown a bit covering about 3 inches out from the bottom making a triangle up about 3inches on the left side. I can’t take it anymore I need to see if they can fix it. Is this something that can be fixed? And y do they make the inner plastic part on the cover actually touch the screen when it’s on. Seems this may happen a lot and I think it would be easier with a neoprene type cover or something. Also after I notice the first small spot on the screen I never put the cover back on. The spot has just gotten bigger on its own.
Any help would be much appreciated. thank you.
