I’m having ma really hard time finding what is compatible now with my LSS-1 I have an original HDS 5 and the structure scan module LSS-1. I want to get another newer unit for the console and move my 5″ to the bow. But I want to still use my Lss-1 and not have to buy the Lss -2. I have been looking at the elite HDi-7 and even the Gen 2’s But I can’t find anything about whether or not they are compatible with the Lss-1. Also could be interested in a chirp model maybe but also can’t find anything relating to Lss-1 with those either.

I appreciate any info one can provide on the compatibility with the LSS-1 and any of those models. Elite HDI’s Gen 2’s and the chirp’s.

    Thanks in advance

Any of the HDSGen2 push button models will work just fine or of course Gen1’s if you can find them.

The Elite series will not hook up to a LSS ducer, they come with downscan already. Any Lowrance HDS units from Gen 1 to the Gen 3 touch can use a LSS-1 ducer. When setting up new unit you will see that Structure Scan is coming from Lss-1 under network tab in settings.
Now if you are going to be adding another unit, will that new unit and the 5 need to be networked? Or are you looking for just a bigger unit on the console?

Thanks Guys, I would like to network them to share waypoints, I assumed I would just plug Ethernet cables into the structure scan box? And maybe a few settings hopefully. hopefully it’s not to complicated. Would be sweet if they shared the side imaging, not sure if that’s possible though.

If you are wanting to share waypoints and such then Ethernet cables will be fine, you Ethernet directly to the units. If you want to go further then you will need to install a NEMA backbone.

Just a heads up you can not hook up the Elite and HDS (Ethernet). If networking HDS units via Ethernet then you can have side scan at either unit.
