I’m trying to decide on an ice shuttle for a Lowrance HDS 9 Live and an Active Target. I’m between a Summit Shuttle and bag and the Lowrance Explorer Premium bag. Wondering if anyone has seen them both up close and would say one over the other.

Here’s my usage – I have an aluminum box on the back of my snowmobile. It needs to fit in there and needs to be fairly durable. We make 30 mile runs one way often over drifted snow. I put padding in the box to protect as best I can. But it’s not just riding in a truck seat. My Garmin 1022xsv and Livescope made it 2 seasons no problem sith my set up. Just moving everything back to Lowrance.

Which shuttle should I go to?

I would stay away from 3D printed stuff if its going to take a beating, go the aluminum or molded plastic shuttle route..

I have the setup you referenced above. It is on the Summit equipment and it is ok. The bag is nice, and the shuttle works. Not sure of the abuse it could take, but if you had one already then I guess it should work again. The ARC lab one is nice, but man, for the cost I dunno if I can stomach it. I used the ice shuttle in boat this year, and while the Summit pole worked, I can see the advantage of a more rigid mounting pole for open water. I recommend the biggest battery you can swing though, as the 9 Live and AT are power thirsty, especially on full brightness.

It for sure changed the approach on fishing, and it is quite the tool. Personally I think the AT is superior to the Garmin, but I know that is opinion. HDS Live units are great, and I see the 9 is marked down to 1000 some places, which is a great buy.

    Good luck!

Arclab if you want the best, check out the new summit shuttle. Suppose to be much more durable but no real world reviews. Theirs broke on me twice, so I switched to arclab.

I just received the Lowrance Shuttle yesterday with the AT without the head unit since I have Live units from my boat. The shuttle isn’t 3d printed it reminds me of a milk crate plastic. It’s 18” tall 12” deep 15” across. Looks bulky but we’ll see. It seems the bag is well made and the wiring harness they send is a special one that shuts down and turns on both the graph and the module. It comes with a Dakota 24ah battery with a digital read out and USB ports.
