My old h2o turns on but screen has black lines all through out screen. Is there a way for me to get the GPS coordinates off it? Any help would be appreciated

I figured that would be the answer. Wish I would have transferred some of the spots over to my helix ????

I tried an old trick of tapping it against the table and the lines disappeared and it is working now. Thanks for the responses

Do you have a chip/data card in the back of it? I was able to transfer all of my previous Lowrance waypoints by placing the data card into another Lowrance unit.

Glad you got yours working again but if anyone else has this issue, try this.

I’ve recovered the waypoints on two H2O units with a screen issue in the past. What usually happens is the unit is alive but there’s just no image on the screen.

What you will need is someone with an operational one. Then press the same key strokes needed to transfer your waypoints to an SD card on both units. So I’ll press button by button on both units until you can see you have successfully transferred your waypoints on the working unit. Then with any luck your broken unit should have transferred the points to that SD card as well.

Google “freezing a hard drive for data recovery.” I’ve never tried it but our IT guys at work just did it last week on a 1/4 million dollar computer…and it worked! My coworker said they froze the hard drive, slammed it on the desk, plugged her in and it worked long enough to recover the data. I googled it later and apparently it’s a thing. I guess you have nothing too lose at this point. Report back if you try it.
