I have a Lowrance HDS9 Gen3, Sidescan used to work perfectly now all I get is one line down the middle and then some little horizontal lines out to the side. Thanks for you help
It looks to me that the transducer is shot. Does it work in Downscan mode? What transducer is it? Do you have a separate 2D sonar transducer or is it an all in one? My buddy lost the ability to view to one side, but not both. His looked just like that, but only one side.
Captain,
Thanks for the Reply, the downscan is not good either. It is the totalscan transducer. I do have a 2d transducer connected to an HDS 7 and it is all connected with Ethernet and NMEA and that comes through as a good picture.
Yeah, unfortunately I bet its a bad transducer. Can you use the 2d of the totalscan and does that work? If you have a buddy with Lowrance, you could swap units around between his and your boats and give that a shot. That is how we figured out my buddy had a bad transducer and not the head unit.
Captain,
Thanks a lot for your help. I was hoping it was just a setting I had somehow messed up but I am now betting that isn’t the case. I will find a new transducer to change it out with.
I occasionally have issues with my imaging on my gen 2s where it just doesn’t display for some reason. With some monkeying around, it starts working again. It’s done this ever since new and has surprisingly gotten better over the years. Might happen once a year. My screens do not look like yours when this happens.
Thanks Biggil and BDR, I have looked through all the settings and have the transcducer selected. I have another Transducer ordered and hope that will fix the Problem I don’t know what hurts more the Price of the transducer or taking the boat apart to run the cable. Thanks again for all your suggestions

Here is a suggestion for you, tie a rope to the end of the old cable before you pull it through. Then tie it to the new one and pull the rope back.
