lowrance gen 3- location not activated

    Just got a gen 3 lowrance unit, was working fine until my dealer connected it to the Mercury Vessel View and did a software update. Now everything works and is integrated, EXCEPT the GPS! For some reason, I get a message “Vessel Location is not available”. Any ideas here? The manual doesn’t touch on GPS sensor or troubleshooting- nor does the installation manual.

    Are you connected to an external antenna?

    Since it is flush mounted, I’m guessing that it’s having trouble acquiring satellites with the internal antenna.

    Or the switch for the antenna/network is not being turned on.

    Did they install a Point 1 antenna? Go into the menu and select gps source either the internal or external Point 1
