Getting frustrated. Retailers don’t know when it will be available. Lowrance won’t answer my email. Anybody have a number for Lowrance?

Thx Corey. I’ll try to find some time to call this afternoon. As an ‘insider’ you may have better luck than me, though. I appreciate it. WV

Several retailers have finally been able to estimate a Feb 7 ship date.

Could not get an answer from Lowrance, however — they won’t respond to emails, don’t answer questions on social media, and the customer service rep didn’t know how to locate that info. While I like the product, that lack of effort to connect with the customer trying to make a purchase sure makes me gun shy about the brand. How bad will it be if I need service or support? I could fish for a few weeks without sonar but may end up going with another brand after this experience.

Finally some satisfaction. I was able to purchase the Lowrance Elite4x Chirp 83/200khz and the Lowrance Ppp-18i Elite/Mark Icefish Bag W/Transducer separately plus shipping for less than the MSRP. Should be in business by Wednesday.

Sweet. Let us know how you like it, and share some photos of it in action. I sent my X67c along with my boat when I sold it, but I loved that thing on the ice and the open water.

will do Ralph. I too loved my x67c. Looking forward to the bigger screen and CHIRP processing on the 4x– supposedly much better target separation.

How have you liked this unit??

I got to use it for the 1st time yesterday and the 2nd today. So far so good. Set up is a breeze. Far more sensitive than my x67c which will be great over deep water. I wish I could have found some more fish to get a good work out.

A few negatives. The scroll is less than smooth but it’s not that big of a deal. The mounting bracket is a POS — still working out how to keep the unit firmly in place while bouncing around.

Good report! I am so on board with the products coming from Lowrance. I just hope they can make some improvements to their ice ducers. Dual beam would be great. Humminbird has this already… anyway post again after you wack some fish and put it to the test. How do you like the screen size? It looks about right to me.

Screen size is nice. Fishing 17′ of water in 4X zoom, I had a very clear view of the bottom 5′ — perfect. The one negative about the view is the battery level display is in a really awkward position in the lower left corner but up 3/4″. There must be a way to hide the battery display overlay but I haven’t figured it out yet.

Used the new unit for some deep water laker fishing today (120′-140′). Took quite a bit of playing around with settings to get it dialed in but it performed very, very well. I had to turn the CHIRP off and used the “Custom High” setting to get a good clear screen. The depth display in the upper corner bounced all over up to 2x the actual depth but that did not affect the actual image on screen in any way, just kind of annoying.

If you case is what I think it is I have the same one on my elite 4 hdi and I have been thinking about zip tying the top plate down to the post on each side thru one of the 3 holes on top of each side. If that works as a temporary fix I have been thinking about putting a bolt thru each side, to replace the zip ties, as a more permanent solution. I could sure take some pics if that would helps. I have also thought of just removing the tray and tackle box’s and mounting the unit base right to the bottom of the plastic carrier. Figure I will try the zip ties for an outing or two first.

I thought the same thing until I found this video.

yea the first time you get the unit the quick release thing is stuck. Dont be afraid to move it HARD to get it to slide the first time.
