Lowrance Elite 4 CHIRP – Navionics Included?

I just installed the Elite 4 CHIRP and I’m wondering if Navionics maps are built in? I am able to select “Navionics” on the chart selection however nothing appears to change. I can’t see any contours/depth. I purchased the unit in Canada and I’m using it on the Bay of Quinte near Belleville, Ontario. Likely, Navionics was not included, I just want to confirm I’m not missing something before I spend the $150 for the chip. The only real question if it isn’t included, is why can I select Navionics in the units chart settings.

Thanks for your help in advance.

That’s how my Elite 5 works. You select Navionics and then the Navionics shows instead of the base map, sometimes it is slow to load though. Try panning to another location. Its possible maybe the chip you got with the unit doesn’t have the lake you were on. Also it my be worth installing the latest update for the Elite units before you spend money on a chip. When I did the update it did improve how well the charts work. Just a couple ideas.

There’s no chip (micro sd) in it at all, so unless it came preloaded, there’s no Navionics. I will update the unit and see what happens.

    Thanks for the reply.

No, the base map that is loaded into it from Lowrance. You will need to purchase a Navionics Card
