Lower Cowl Replacement (or repair)?

We just purchased a tritoon with a 2016 Mercury 150hp 4 stroke after a decent amount of looking and the dreaded endeavor of private sales. The previous owners put exactly 60 hours on the thing in 4 years. The only issue is that while it sat on the lift, they never raised the motor out of th water. The lower unit which is not plastic should clean up fine with some elbow grease. The plastic panels for the lower cowl just above that (not sure that’s the right description) may not be so susceptible to the deep cleaning without damaging them.

    The questions:

Where would a guy go about ordering these replacement panels?

Is there anything anyone has used or tried on that hard water residue to clean it? – keeping in mind it’s plastic that will scratch.

    Thanks

Did scrubbing them with a brush not scratch them?

    Thanks!

The Works tub&shower cleaner took the water stains and carbon deposits off my yamahas for years hardly any scrubbing, works great in the bathroom too, might want to try it on the plastic in a hard to see area first, that stuff is potent and could possibly harm the paint but I never had.a problem

If removed and the cleaning does not work just repaint them a good base coat clear coat will take care of the problem same thing for the lower unit if it does not come clean.

The Works Toilet Bowl Cleaner waytogo

Use a sponge and gloves, keep the area wet for several minutes.

    Rinse off and you’re done

bucky, you have to remember you bought a used boat! if you want it all to look new then you need to buy new.
