Heading to Lake of the Woods in a few days, how much ice will I need to be prepared for? One extension do it on my strikemaster?

Hearing mixed reports, any advice on where to try and what to fish them with would be appreciated.

Heading up there on 2/27 and was wondering if I would be able to drill a hole and watch a tip up from the fish house. I dont have an extension, so I guess I dont need to bring the auger, I’ll just fish from inside the fish house

If you are fishing with a resort, many of the guides will cut a hole outside if you ask them when you get dropped off in the a.m.

We’re just taking our truck out to fish houses. I can always set a tip up inside the fish house if I get bored with jigging though
