We are heading up to Lake of the woods the last week in January with snowmobiles so we can be mobile. Wondering how the fishing is around Garden island this time of year?

Seems as if there are more folks venturing up that way in recent years… Personally, catching has not been great the past 2 years. But there are some fish around if you find them. I will normally give a spot 30 minutes or so and move if Im not seeing what I like.

We try to avoid the area and go else where off the beaten path.
