Love sitting on the couch watching the open water fishing shows. The bad thing is looking out the window at the snow banks. grin
Don’t know how much a guy learns watching them but for me it’s relaxing. I know you ice guys enjoy those ice shows also.

I haven’t had the boat out in 2 days now. Already wondering what to do with my time. High of 25 today and still tempted to get the boat out.

I’m with you guys bring on open water, had 5-6 ice outings and that’s enough.

But it’s fun to go through stuff, get rid of what doesn’t fit anymore and start planning for 2021 open water.

I head to Kansas in early March for a week of soft water fishing, can’t come soon enough!

The new open water episodes now on FSN are nice. Musky Hunter, Angling Edge, and Keyes Outdoors are some of the ones I enjoy, and they usually have a local setting.

Usually stick to the reservoirs like Milford, Perry, Clinton, El Dorado, etc. Primary species we target that time of year are crappie and blue cats.

Might try to slip in a day of bass fishing at the power plant. Think they call it Coffey County now, used to be called Wolf Creek.

I’m originally from Northeast Kansas, where do you fish down there?

Plenty of open water here in Port Aransas, Tx. Fished the beach yesterday and caught 5 whiting. High in the upper 60’s next week; I’ll be out there Tuesday when the crowds die down. grin

Grizzly, Pool 2 is open except for the coldest days. Normally the launches will freeze up first. It’s a dandy trophy catch and release walleye fishery.

P2 is open now – launches might freeze up again with this couple days of cold but saw a few boats out there this weekend.

It’s been over a month since I’ve been on open water and it sucks. Drinking beer in a heated ice shack is great but I’d rather be freezing my tail off on a boat.

I dont know of any guides that fish pool 2 regularly anymore. There are a few that list pool 2 on their websites but never see them on pool 2. Denver is one of the few I do see out there occasionally. He guides 3 and 4 also.

It is great when the fishing shows turn from hunting and ice fishing to open water after Christmas. That happens, Boat show at end of Jan, other outdoor shows start happening, and pretty soon we are onto spring. Love the anticipation.
