I’m old enough to remember Louie playing for the North Stars.
I’m old enough to remember Louie being the General Manager of the North Stars.
But what I will always remember Louie for his being the color guy at the Minnesota Boys Hockey Tournament.
His voice to me is iconic and his knowledge of the game is second to nobody.

Yeah, you gotta love his heavily biased commentary for Edina. moon

I’ll never forget three years ago when he said Duluth East didn’t have a shot against Edina in the semifinal game. hah

I like Lou except during the HS tournament.

Pretty sure if your grandkids played at Edina you would be a tad bit bias also.

He’s been that way for 30 years. I remember when his grand kids played in the state tournament. I don’t think he ever realized 2 teams were on the ice.

Pride is one thing, biased commentary on tv is totally different.

Whatever. Doesn’t bother me as much as it bothers you I guess. It’s 3 days, I can survive it. grin

He is definitely a class act and a very nice guy.

When I was in high school I mowed his lawn at their cabin. Got to say hi and bs with him a handful of times.

Come on, Lou obviously says positive things about Edina and its hard not to be proud of your grandkids, but that isn’t even remotely close to how I hear him and I HATE Edina.
How about Mark Parish doing the color in the Orono/LDC game? You want to talk about favoritism, he kept using the terms We, Us, etc when referring to Orono. He was terrible. I honestly cannot stand him doing color but some people want to eat off his shoes.

Who is the commentator between periods with the round glasses? He’s been around for years and I still don’t have a clue who he is or why he is doing the tournament.

Can’t remember his name right off hand, but he needs to give it up too. Starting to lose his train of thought in the middle of a sentence. Sorry I must be in a bad mood today, but those 2 guys irritate me

I’ll watch tonight for sure. Not sure how long I’ll listen though. Im sure he’ll lay it on pretty thick tonight after that 7-1 victory yesterday. I wonder if East will have a “shot” tonight.

Years ago wasn’t he the head of Hockey Minnesota? I’m pretty sure he was a long time officer in one of the groups. Maybe it was the State High School League? I dunno.

I think Nannie and Parrish have done great this year. The overall coverage has been engaging. I like hearing the stories of where the guys are going to college. The best guys used to go to Minnesota, but not anymore.

If you have a problem with Nanne now, you will not when he is gone.

There will be a day when we will get even more of blabbering Ben Clymer shoved down our throat.

Clymer must have video of a FSN exec doing something he shouldn’t cuz he is BRUTAL.

Enjoy Nanne while he is here, they don’t make em like that anymore.

They should hire Wes Walz to replace him. Or how about Dan Terhaar.

Were you mowing grass on East Balsam?

    Yes sir.

For whatever reason my hometown was a big draw for local celebrities.

Over the years I had the opportunity to meet a handful of them, including Kirby Puckett, Kent Hrbek, Eric Gisselson, Belinda Jensen, Julie Nelson, Jeff Passolt (farther up north) and more.

Dem mud ducks sure love sconny )

They got rid of Terhaar in favor of Lapanta which along came Greenlay.
I really wish Clay Matvick still did play by play for the tourney. He has moved on to bigger and better things now, but he was very very good IMO.

I don’t know how anyone can stand to listen to Parrish. He is unlistenable. He is always searching for some cliché to use and when he did the Orono game it was awful. Glad I am not watching it today since Orono has been off to a great start.
I don’t know who the guy is that does the play by play with Parrish, but he is very good IMO.

I think Lapanta is brutal. Gets players wrong when calling games all the time, anytime the whistle blows he thinks it should be a pp for the Wild. And I want to shave that stupid mop off his head. Thought it was a hairpiece for the longest time.
