Hi all. I have a 99′ 1700 Pro Sport that has a loose steering column. To clarify what I mean by “loose”, the entire steering wheel and column itself can be moved up and down and side to side. This was repaired/ tightened up a few years ago by a dealer when doing some other maintenance work , but has come loose again. Any pointers on how to repair this and/or why it is happening? Thanks in advance for any pointers.

Just redid the steering on my Crestliner, imagine they are all similar.

Seems to me the bolts holding the bracket which holds the steering mechanism came loose, or possibly if you have tilt on your wheel, the small allen screw came loose inside which is now allowing the wheel to move freely within the knuckle of the tilt component. That year can see the console rotting out which would make first scenario my first suspicion.

Both fairly easy to fix. When I switched mine out was a huge PIA to find the right bolts. The wrong size could easily come loose over time.
