Hear is some border crossing info.

No line at the boarder, but getting your covid test back in time to cross can be an issue.
A little tip, Don’t go to Walgreens
Here’s a tip for anyone crossing the boarder in the near future.
Go to several sites for your covid test, so you can get your results in time.

You mean have the tests done in multiple places?

I wouldn’t be going now except the resort we made plans with 2 years ago is demanding we come or lose deposit.Don’t think I’d be doing any business with them in the future
The fish nazi.
We tried to get across the boarder today.
2 of our party couldn’t get the test results back in 72 hrs.
Hopefully we can get our deposit money back.
Wasted trip to the boarder.
I’m so very sorry your party didn’t successfully gain entrance into Canada. We have heard about both success and failure. So to assist others can we get details on what testing places worked and why as well as what didn’t work and why. All the best to all that go for it.
With hind sight being 20/20 if anyone is going into Canada here is a couple tips.
Don’t trust Walgreens with your covid test, you may not get the results in time.
Your healthcare provider will probably charge for an office visit, but it is probably the most reliable as far as getting test results back in a timely manner.
You have 72 hours from your test time until you cross the boarder, not from when you receive your results.
It might not be a bad plan to test at 2 different facilities, at least 1 should come back in time.
I’m sorry you had a bad experience.
At the same time, Walgreens works perfectly fine if you use the right approach.
The Rapid Diagnostic Test (ID NOW) from Walgreens is acceptable by Canada because it is an NAAT type test. It’s performed in store and my experience (twice) was results come back within an hour.
Much faster than the PCR, and their Antigen (BinaxNOW) is not acceptable, so just get the ID NOW test from Walgreens about 48 hours before you go.

As said, the Antigen test is not an acceptable test.
Went to the airport to get mine ( spit test- molecular) which is acceptable. Friday appt at 2:30 results came back Saturday afternoon.
Sister used Walgreens, friends used CVS – they all work. I think the suggestion was if you go to 2 or more places you have a better chance of getting the results back in time.
It works and folks, if I CAN GET IT TO WORK using my cell phone to fill out the forms while in line ANYONE can do it. Same with ARRIVE CAN – deleted my Intl Falls appt and entered my Baudette appt all while in the car in under 10 minutes.
I guess that was our bad, as I read it we needed the pcr test to cross and the rapid tests were not accepted.
There are places around the Twin Cities that use the PCR test with results back overnight or less. Free with most insurance. My son was tested a few weeks back at 3:00 or 4:00 pm and had his result back by 11:00 pm same day.

And unfortunate 2 of our party went to Walgreens and still haven’t gotten the test results back.
Those are some great looking fish. Glad you have a successful trip and the whole process went smoothly. Hope our trip from 9/3-9/14 is as successful and the border process goes as smooth.
The fear I would have of doing multiple test at multiple test locations is the added chance of possibly getting different results. possibly do to a false Positive. I read a story where someone did just that. He did multiple test and got different results. He figure no big deal I’ll just bring the one with the Neg. result. I’m not sure how but somehow the country he was trying to get into was aware of the Positive test and would not let him enter – I’m not sure what country it was.
I think all the test results go into a database that governments can access.
I don’t understand why you would go without your test results in hand?
We were told our results would come out in time.
We hoped to have them in time.
The test results did finally arrive, only 28 hrs too late.
Also our outfitter said be here or lose deposit.
Fortunately the outfitter is crediting us for next year, as they thought the quick tests were accepted.

I understand now. That sucks. Sorry your trip was ruined.
Also went through Baudette, but left on the 14th. Not a single car was in line at 11am. Not a single car was in line to return on the 21st either. Noticed three cars were going to CA when we were on the way back. Normal years, Saturday traffic is bad because of changeover day at lodges. An empty crossing felt eerie.
Did the arrivecan thing ahead of time and used the 24hr walgreens ID NOW test… everyone passed without issue or scrutiny for the 6 person group. Estimated maybe 2-3 minutes more of questions than other years.
Great experience. Well above average fishing for our location. Had some locals in Minaki actually stop their car, just to ask how excited we were to be up there and welcome us.
Only other advice…don’t bring worms or dead bait this year, even if you’ve done it before. That’s a new rule change.
