Highest water temperature and lowest flow of the year.

Bullheads and suckers are in the bag of tricks.

FYI Last weekend while fishing with Stru of The Ticket Outdoors, I lobbed out a sucker the size of a keeper walleye.
I thought at least it would make some noise under water and attract flats to my three other waiting tender bullheads.

Ten to 15 minutes later that HUGE sucker was hit with a ferocious bite! No saying it was the sucker wiggling…it was whoompted! Just goes to show there is no bait that is too big for flats this time of year.

Wish I would have taken a photo of that sucker.

Take a nap in the afternoon Mike, you’re not as good as you once was. )

I can’t believe I am saying this but so am I BK. I will be at the resort Thursday-Sunday fishing for walleye and also spend plenty of time soaking…..stink bait and shrimp!

I was going to the resort on Thursday, but do to adenoid surgery on the little one, I’m going tonight instead.

What night is the fish fry and shrimp feed?

Last weekends trial run at a walleye/catting day didnt go to bad. Up at 4am to get the boat ready and down to the landing at 6 for the mornings walleye trip. 25 to 30 walleyes and boat loaded up by noon. Quick stop on the way home to fill cooler with bullheads. Big lunch preceded a nice afternoon nap. Back to the landing about 730 pm for the evening catfishing trip. We stuck it out until about 2 am.

Only improvement Im going to try to do on this weekends trip is catch a catfish. Walleyes seem to be much easier to catch.

Logan and I are looking forward to seeing you again next weekend BK. Hopefully Logan has been working on his hook set.

    I hope he’s been practicing!

It’s not good manners to tell a guest they set the hook like a little girl. )
