Lots of stuff online yes. Applied to County, car dealerships etc.
like to drive or move boats or campers to and fro perhaps or deliveries other than Amazon. Maybe auto parts. No luck so far but lots of folks on here have a much boarder experience knowledge base than I. Maybe 2-3 days per week max. Working 20 hrs a week selling software now and want to add something a little less “sit on my ass” ( at least moving vehicles around would be outside and engaging with more people than a home office). One and dimes on a “ as needed” basis would g N e fine too.
spent a career volunteering so really want some sort of compensation.

I start my part time job with the city on May 24th. Working Tues, Wed, Thursday mowing grass. Just the job and hours I wanted.

Lots of places want older responsible people, just knock on doors until you find what you are looking for.

My old man delivers parts for Napa. Just something that keeps him busy and he enjoys. I’m pretty sure he is part time just a few days a week. And he gets half off on parts

Auto Auctions are always looking for drivers. Florists, dry cleaners, grocery stores are huge in delivery now. Good parts stores and dealers have less turnover. Guy that delivered to my shop. Had worked at John Deere for 25 years then delivered parts for 25 years then retired at 70.

Check with the golf courses, they usually need help mowing in the mornings. I’ve always thought that’d be a fun part time gig.

My brother does that. Works from like 5-8:30ish. Mowing & doing bunkers, moving cups ect.

Depending on how focused your search is for something driving related…every yard from here to California would hire someone willing to drive forklift on the spot or make a few deliveries. If you focus on smaller lumber yards or manufacturing facilities, many will let you make your schedule as they need additional help and welcome the idea of employees who won’t be pulling benefit packages.

My main career comes first but on the side I run forklift, offload trucks, deliver house packages, determine material needs for jobs, etc. for a local lumber yard. I create my own schedule from May-September. Deliveries can be as simple as running a few sheets of OSB somewhere, picked units of lumber that contractors pull off as you watch, or as involved as box trucks filled with $60k in windows.

It’s a great way to get to know contractors, get a little exercise, but could also be tailored toward less strenuous work and more driving if that’s what you preferred.

Our local bus company offers a $2k sign on bonus for FILL-IN bus drivers. This isn’t a regular route or things like that that require a constant commitment (they get even more). This would be for taking a sports team to a game in the evening, or filling-in for another driver on a pre-determined absence if you wish for field trips and so on. The sports gig is pretty convenient as you get to go watch kids compete for free on dates that work with you, our coaches cover anything you want from concessions or a restaurant you may stop at, discipline is never a problem and people are grateful for your help.

Before I had to give up coaching football, we had two drivers who would bring their young sons with to be a “ball boy.” They had other jobs but liked doing this on the side. Their kids knew more about football X’s and O’s by the time they were 10 than most adults. I loved chatting with them to fend off the nerves of running game scenarios through my head on the way to away games. We kept them and their dads topped-off on popcorn, team meals, and always invited them to the postgame festivities at coaching staff homes as well. Every school I’ve seen does things in a similar way. I could see this being one of my retirement gigs someday.

I’m not sure how long it takes to get a CDL or costs, but this would be the first thing Im looking into if I’m in your position. No sense in fuc**ng around with the small stuff, invest just a bit of time and get to a point where you work one day a week and make 2x the money as delivering brake pads.

    Dutch,
Did you ask if they need someone to plow snow?
