Waiting for paperwork to get done…
    My retirement boat!
    2016 G3 16 Guide boat.
It’s got a Yamaha 70 HP 4stroke outboard hanging off the back.
Wondering what might be the top speed of my new steed??
    Thanks
    Joe

I’d say with just you, a trolling motor, 2-3 batteries, an average load of gear you would be at 30-32mph on calm water. Add another angler more like 28-30mph.

It’s at a dealer in Clayton NY.
It’ll haul my wife, 2 ,( well 3 Batteries counting the engine starting battery), bow trolling motor, assorted fishing items.
I promise myself I’m gonna have a lean cargo list on this boat!
This bad boy will cruise the St Lawrence and Lake Ontario.
Somewhere on a site for Gaming props, you filling boat, engine, it suggest props and tells you the speed, but, I can’t seem to locate it now……
5 weeks I figure and Ill have it on the water!
    Tanks to all!!

Yeah I wonder if he’s got the model wrong. I thought they only made the 16 foot guide in the bare-bones bench boat variety with a max 25hp. I think the V177 would be the only boat in that lineup where you could hang a 70 on it legally.

Sorry the,” official ” name of the boat is a 2016 G-3 Guide V177.
When I hook up to it with my truck, Ill sit with salesman and get an idea if speed.
    Thank to all!

That’s not mine, just a picture I found on the web. I was just trying to see what your consoles/floorplan looked like.

Yamaha has a test report of a V177 tiller with a F60 on it, 32.6mph. You’ve got 10 more hp, a larger lower unit (more drag) and more weight (with the consoles), so I’d expect a similar speed.

I think you bought the wrong boat if speed is your main concern. rotflol

Speed had nothing to do with me getting this boat!
It has all the items I need in a boat for fishing on St. Lawrence River, or, maybe for salmon on Lake Ontario.
Just wondering if it can haul Almn. When the skies turn dark and gloomy!
