Granted, this is second hand info from a couple of people I know in the area, and it is pretty general but I thought I’d share.
It seems like there are two trains of thought. One is the walleye fishing has been pretty pitiful, so a lot of people are just fishing perch with spinners, and jigs and plastics in about 14-16 feet on shallower structure.
The other guy I talked to was getting walleyes but for whatever reason, big fish were the only thing he was getting during the day, and eaters during low light periods. He started by pulling leadcore around the 20-25 ft. structure, then switching to spinners to hone in and finally sitting on top of them and beating them up on jigs and leeches. Said he couldn’t catch an eater to save his life during the daylight hours but the big ones were going pretty well.
