Looking for Alaskan 18' Center Console

I’m sold on center console boats for fishing. I know Lund made Alaskan CC model for a few years in the 1990’s. I had a beat on one a couple of weeks ago up in MN but it sold before I could go look at it (I live in Michigan). Any insight would be appreciated? Do folks sell boats on this forum? Thanks for your help!

Wow. That’ll be a pretty rare find, especially to get one that wasn’t ridden hard and put up wet in commercial use or beat to a pulp in saltwater.

Might want to take a look at Crestliner’s various center consoles as well. They are a lot more common than the Alaskans and a lot easier to find in good condition.

Finding a CC in mn is quite the endeavor. Luckily I’ve got one in my driveway woot

Trying to find a CC Alaskan is going to be pretty tough. Good luck. I’d love to have one too.

There are a few of them around on the Great Lakes, but a lot are in commercial use. Those boats get beat HARD and will be completely crapped out if/when they get sold. The Alaskan also was expensive when new, so commercial guys didn’t care, but sport use guys did so fewer were sold

The Crestliners are a lot more common in sport use and the all welded hulls were popular with guys on the GLs that wanted to keep them in marinas where rivet leaks are a big PITA. I almost got trampled by an Army of guys from Michigan and points east when I put my big Crestliner Sportfish up for sale, the GL guys with marina slips really dig those welded hulls. Wish I would have had 5 of those boats to sell, I owned for 5 years and didn’t lose a dime on it even with the electronics I added.

Not completely accurate. When I bought my 18’Alaskan, it was actually a very reasonably priced boat compared to most manufactures. When compared to other Lund Models, it was dirt cheap. That was a major reason why I went with an Alaskan over other model. Thousands of dollars less.

Most guys(DEALERS) wouldn’t stock them here in the midwest because Lund marketed them as an Utility boat or cargo like in the case of guides in Canada doing fly-ins and hauling a lot of stuff. The CC model will be tough due to the minimal demand on center consoles. Keep in mind that you can get consoles for that boat and make changes to it. I bought a tiller model and added a side console for about 1/10th the cost of the option.

If you have never been on the water in an Alaskan, keep in mind the blunt bow on that. Wet ride in not that rough of water.

I looked into Crestliner but did not see any V-hull models less than 20 feet. Did they make 18′ CC model and, if so, what years? I know they make some jon boat style CC boats which don’t interest me.

Biggill – What brand is your center console boat? Always looking for feedback on one brand vs. the other. Aluminum vs. fiberglass / roplene (Triumph). Any info would be appreciated.
