Dave we have gone through a crap load of them around here the past few winters…. for my money, the one we got off the Mac tool truck is the best. Not cheap, but a good unit, most importantly, works when you need it to.

Got a model number or amp rating for that unit?

Give Cal a shout out to SBC. He showed me one yesterday that was crazy-small that they have been using to jump cars, trucks and boats. Says they work great.

I would love to know as well, I have a recoil start for backup on my 4X4 but it is a bear to pull over.
We have began to carry these to the sport shows to help with trimming the motors and have had to do the occasional jump start with these as well. The nice thing about them is they are compact and store very nicely without the traditional big bulky jump starts of a few years ago. They come with enough attachments to charge just about any electronics, but if you need a quick jump for any reason these come in handy.
I did quite a bit of research and ended up going with an Antigravity XP-10 and really have had no problems in 2 years and use it quite a bit. It has an adapter for just about anything you want to plug into it. I use it at work when traveling to prolong my laptop battery and cell phone. It’s not the smallest unit out there now days but I found a smoking hot deal for it ($99) and it’s battery reserve matched my needs. They do make smaller ones and from all the reviews I looked at there were very few complaints for this brand. It comes in a nice small carrying case too.
Jon,
This will become very difficult when there is no other battery around! !!

Sorry Dave! Server at work strips off the image attachments.
Those little jumpers will fit in a small tupperware box.
-J,
I bought a low cost booster at Lowes and it has been ok so far. It has started my atv and 150 hp outboard with no problems and is about the size of a vhs tape so is great to leave in the boat or atv. It will also charge portable devices. However I did try to start a 3/4 ton V8 truck one -20 degree day on the lake last winter and it didn’t have the cranking power to get the job done and the terminal clamps are really flimsy.
The model I purchased:
Pilot InstaBoost 400-Amp Car Battery Jump Starter

Yes me too……although it sounds like it has its place…..maybe i was expecting too much but it didnt start any truck i tried.

Hey Cal do you know where a guy can find these? Everyplace on the web that I could find says they are unavailable.

I got one of these not knowing how well it would work.
I’ve been using this in one of my work vans and can’t believe how much power it has. If I recall, you can sign up and they will send you an email reminder to recharge the unit.

The antigravity xp10 is a great unit. I will vouch for this unit as I have one.nice thing about the xp10 is you can charge multiple things at once on it. I also have the zetec brand one. Both will jump a car. I use mine at work to jump cars often. The zetec is smaller and can be found on amazon.com. I keep one in each vehicle for emergencies and it will hold a charge for 6mo. Both good units

@Mocha….We have them here at Skeeter Boat Center in Ramsey
We carry 3 models. They all will power/charge various devices. Cell phones, cameras, laptop, tablets, etc. Comes with a wide variety of plugs to charge these devices. Also comes with a wall charging system and cigarette adapter as well for charging.
If theses are primarily used as backup to jump boats, Atv’s or simply a power source, I think they will do the job just fine. If you are going to use one to jump vehicles then the PS-19 Multi Function Lightning Start is the one to get.
Price ranges from $158.99 (PS-19) down to 99.99
Hey Cal !!!
Lets make it happen !!
I think I’d like one of the PS-19’s !!
Size and power make a perfect fit for the Hovercraft !!
And it will be a very good insurance policy for the day we least expect !!
Sounds good Dave…..Will have it ready for you. Thanks for the business
Micro start from anti
Gravity. Fits in your pocket and will start a diesel in 0 degrees multiple times.
