Seriously, that’s what I use for a call for pepper when covering a roast or making soups or stews.

Seriously, that’s what I use for a call for pepper when covering a roast or making soups or stews. I have a spice grinder but looking for a designated tool to grab when needed.

PS. Mechanical may not be the correct word. Powered by battery would be the best to describe. Sorry for the word ailment.

Husband: “How much pepper would you like on your steak Dear?”

    Wife: “Just FU#$ me up.”

Husband: *grabs extra battery* “As you wish.”

Get a Unicorn pepper grinder. You can find them on Amazon. They are a twist grinder like the wooden one in your picture but they put out 3 times the amount of pepper. I first read about them in Cook’s magazine and picked one up. Hands down the best pepper mill I have ever used. Search for Unicorn Magnum pepper mill.

This is why I have a coffee grinder specifically for spices. Handful of peppercorns in and a few seconds later out comes fresh ground pepper.

My experience with all types of small battery operated kitchen appliances has been those motors are way too small for continuous duty. They are made for 10 second bursts. If you run them for a couple minutes at a time the motors and bearings overheat and will eventually fail.
