Those otters seem beastly to pull by hand @ 145#. Add in all the gear, yikes. Have a Evo1 with all the gear on a Smitty can pull all day, but no way I’d want more weight on that thing.

Those Evo2 are pretty freaking sweet if you ask me. If I wanted a 2 man I’d be looking at those, the 300denier shell is light and surprisingly pretty warm.

Had the Resort and the EVO 2. Weight is relative. The EVO has all the weight on one end. The Resort is easier to load into truck than the EVO, weight is spread from one end to the other. There is no place to store gear in a EVO for transport from the parking lot to the ice. When I was comparing bigger flipovers, the Otters were relatively lighter. The Otter sled is the best sled for durability and for pulling. I started with Clam, Eskimo flipover, Otter flipover, Eskimo EVO and now a Shappell FX 150. As far as I am concerned for two-three person flipover the Otter is all all-around best for that. I would watch the classifieds for an older Otter that has the old seats, one on each bar that extends front to back.
I am in a FX 150 and find it perfect for what I do, fish by myself most of the time. My next one will be pop-up when I am fishing with more than one and pull that in second sled behind my FX 150. Good luck on your search.

Thanks so far guys. Id like to keep it under 100lbs if I could and I looked at the pop ups but I can’t put them in the wind block position. Anyone got other thoughts?

Clam makes a couple of light weight 2 man flip overs. The portage and nanook weigh in at around 80 pounds. I have never owned one of these but from what I’ve seen they aren’t that great. I didn’t really get the impression that they were made to last. I do have an otter Xt1200 cabin and that thing is awesome!! It weighs in around 100 pounds and I hand dragged mine for 2 seasons and unless there was a ton of snow on the ice it dragged pretty well. I don’t know if you can stand straight up in it, I’m 6’2 and I can’t, but the seats are very comfy and easily removable if needed. It is also super warm and quiet on windy days. After having an otter I really don’t think that I would even consider anything else. Imho they are the best shacks on the market. Hope this helps. Good luck on your search.

I have a Clam Nanook and love it. However for two people it can be a little tight. Also it is a bit short to stand up in. I like to tell people it’s a perfect 1 man because you have plenty of extra space for a putting a deadstick next to you or a kid for that matter. I am actually looking at Frabill pull overs this year though. The Aegis (spelling?) looks pretty nice.
