Looking for a great breakfast restaurant in St.Cloud area. Will be meeting a colleague this Friday and would like to have a good decent breakfast.

Thanks for any and all suggestions!

Jimmy’s in Sauk Rapids is solid. Copper Lantern on the east side is pretty good too. If you have time and don’t mind a dive, Pete’s Place on 9th. Not sure if any of the new downtown places do breakfast but might be worth checking out, I’m a fan of the White Horse and Pickled Loon.

As I have traveled through the area heading to LOW from Iowa, I’ve been to the Copper Lantern at most twice. It was reasonable, not a head out of my way to kind of place, BUT, not a to avoid. 1 to 10 I say a an 7.2 to 7.8.

I went to college at St Cloud State and I sure miss petes place. I didn’t go there often but its enjoyable. If you go there, check out his shed near the side of the building. He has a patent from the 80s for this workout equipment and a video running in there 24/7 with a demonstration. Its pretty spectacular! Of course that was 10 years ago, not sure what the place is like now.

There used to be a good 24/7 place near waite park but that place closed down. cant remember the name of it now.

Pete’s Place actually closed and was/is remodeling and opening under another name. I’m not sure how far they got with that process. That place was the best greasy spoon (aside from Val’s) in St. Cloud.

Wonder what happened to the patent..
