Looking for a ice rod bag or case, would prefer a pvc pipe one like the one Clam makes but long enough to hold up to a 45 inch rod.

I just picked this up for my brother for Christmas. He has some longer rods and I think this would hold 45s. I put my 36in rods in there and there’s a lot of room yet. It’s an Eagle Claw ice rod case

For 45″ and a tube/pipe design, look at 2 piece fly rod cases. I don’t think anything that will handle that length will have capacity for more than a couple rods.

That eagle claw one looks pretty decent

They have the Eagle Claw at Fleet. My son just bought one on sale for $30. Normally around $45 I believe.

The eagle claw is a great low cost case option, but Tyler will need to bust his rod for it to fit. Pretty sure 41″ is the max. My laker rods don’t fit @ 42″.

Ok, measured. 2 rods a hair over 41″ would fit. The other two would need to be sub 40″.

Fishwater beat me to it. I went and measured, the biggest would 41. Sorry for the useless suggestion. Seriously though I wish I would’ve found this before I went the rifle case route. This has a lot of room for other stuff like we pack spare spools with different line. Kind of nice to be able to switch from braid for inside to mono for outside depending on what the days plan is.

Cut down a piece of PVC with a slot in it for the reel. And glue 2 pegs on it so you can put a rubber band around the reel to hold it in place. Really easy cheap and portable. Plus indistructable for normal fishing

Also Look at the rifle/shotgun hard cases. they will hold rods up to the low fifty inch legnth. Amazon has several non-specific hard cases that will work also

Plano has a hard-sided double-shotgun/rifle case that’s 48″ long I believe. It’s not bad. $35 at Mills Fleet. The spinning reel handles need to be loosened and collapsed though.

If your looking for a great rod case definitely take a hard look at the new Scheels rod case made by Plano on sale right now for 100 a little spendy but it is a great case I just picked one up it fits 6 rods up to 42″ in length and then also has some storage as well. You could probably stand on this case and the rods would be fine.

I bought one of these yesterday. On sale for $99. Now I can burn my Transporter.
THis is a plano tactical case, and scheels puts an insert in there to accommodate the rods and it includes several tackle trays. I have 6 of my rods in there and lots of room. It has a waterproof seal and is lockable.

Heard the sheels case is a tight fit due to the depth and spinning reels will have to be folded to fit.
I use a hard/soft sided case from Cabelas and made rod tubes out of fluorescent tube holder’s for my 38″ rods and cut a slot for the reel to fit.
Still looking for a case to hold all that isn’t a boat load of $$$
