Normally I would say our typical March and April wet snow dumps are going to hit us, but everything is so wacky now that it’s hard to say if that will even happen this year. I do wonder if this summer will be a wet one after the last couple drought summers. Seems like we are due for that flip.

I agree. Weather has a way of equalizing. Remember all the snow we had last winter? Record setting, then followed by a dry summer. I mowed the lawn 2 or 3 times.

That’s correct. I remember because our oldest was born in 2011, and it was his first St. Paddy’s Day. We were at a parade in Padua, MN, and thankfully had looked at the forecast and brought shorts!

I was on the rainy river with Charlie and Steve before he passed away we were fishing in t shirts. That was one of our best rainy trips ever.

I’ve been dealing with a move and now house projects so my ice fishing time has been absolutely NILL. Trying to buckle down and get all this done now so I can spend more time in the boat this spring.
This weather is so radical its almost worrisome. Its very much outside my experience. We will be talking about if for years as long as it doesn’t happen again soon.

The atmospheric river currently over California is projected to make its way to the region on Thurs/Fri. Obviously its not going to rain buckets like it is there, but its definitely going to be way too warm to fall here as snow. Gonna be all or mostly all rain.
This will really make ice conditions deteriorate quickly. I was talking to a guy the other day and he was on 8 inches of ice and when he jumped up and down the ice sagged!
Videos from Jason Groll on LOW and there are massive fractures in the middle of the ice road and the sheets when stepped on would sink. Pucker factor!

i seen a picture of winnie ice form this past weekend…..looked good and solid…. i’m going to be using wheelers not vehicles!!!!!!

Steady rain in minnetonka this morning. Think it was raining through much of the night
Same here. Pretty heavy bands moving through the central portion of the state from west of St Cloud eastward over to Hinckley right now.
Got plenty of rain overnight here in Sartell. It’s rained almost non stop since about 9:00 last night and is coming down rather hard right now. Be curious to know how much rain we receive out of this storm. I even heard some thunder. This much rain in early Feb. that’s a first for me. This is the 2nd rather large rainfall we have had here this so called winter. I would hate to think about how much total snow these two storms would have amounted to had it been in snow. It would have been a pile for sure.

It does look more “seasonable” but definitely still a fake winter in the 10 day forecast. And virtually no snow.
Not much rain this morning for Rochester. I do see a fairly large band developing to the west that might get us a bit more. Mostly sunny here right now. 46 degrees. Plenty windy though.
Crap going to make the lakes a ice rink out there lol.
Well, we need the precipitation and you don’t have to shovel rain… so no complaints here.
We got some rain, but most missed us to the west and north west. Same pattern as all of last year.
