I rode the wheeler along the river this afternoon, put on 36 miles from the driveway. In a hoodie to top it off. What a beautiful day.

Any open water over there on the croix? It usually is about a week behind the rum by me but it is getting close.

It’s close but still ice. Black and wet. Will be gone any day

One good thing about this winter is I’ve kept up with picking up the dog poop.

Well, is this a sign? Heard multiple bluebirds this morning. Ugh, I hope we dont get a quick cold snap it will wipe them out.

Anybody waiting for the crash in the weather, a cold snap or a dump of snow?

The news last night was talking about allergy issues already because of this warmth. THat is one thing we forget about is without that bone chilling cold for extended periods of time it doesnt wipe out a lot of these things and then makes for a miserable spring and summer.

Not coming. At least as far out as the forecast goes. Which is the middle of February.

El Nino is projected to shift to neutral this spring and then back to La Nina by summer. You can expect mostly dry, mild weather for the time being.

That’s no lie. High pollen counts have been pretty normal all thru January. Ozone and particulates are other air issues. I have moderate lung disease and can tell a full day ahead of any weather change that is going to impact air quality. Today it’s small particulates…. probably mostly from vehicle exhaust and emissions from industry.

I’m foreseeing a few big snow storms in April this year to make up for it. Mother nature is a cruel b*tch

Jimmy that sounds bad. I bet you were miserable last week when it was cloudy and foggy the whole time.

it’s not looking good right now! we’re going to need a little help from mother nature to make it happen. the pond was still usable as of last night, mostly because we’re still getting a few degrees below freezing at night… but I think today might be the day that its toast and next week doesn’t look like its going to be any better. RIP Pond ice 2024

I had 54 degrees at 2 this afternoon and 49 right now. I’m loving it. Airbrushing in the shop today. I turned an electric heater on for an hour at 10 this morning, then shut it off so the over-spray doesn’t have a flame source. With the shop door closed all afternoon, except the usual coming and going, its still 64 degrees in there. My beer gets warm if I don’t drink it fast enough.

No way is over. I’m betting we will pay for this mild winter in March and April. I just hope it doesn’t go into May. There’s lots of cold weather ahead of us yet.
