So who has/had the most mileage on one motor/transition for your truck (let’s do gas only-NOT diesel). I’m only on my second truck so it’s pretty low.

    Truck/motor/mileage:

2000 Ford F-150 v8. 140,000 miles before the tranny failed

2012 Tundra V8 5.7. 140,000 miles and still running like new.

I trade mine in before they hit a hundo, but back in the day I did have a 2500 chevy 4×4 that had 250,000 then the speedometer quit working and I had it for 4 to 5 years after that.

I traded off my 03 GMC 1500 with 242,xxx. By far the most reliable vehicle I have owned. My 12 ram 2500 that I bought to replace GMC has been good so far and has 183,xxx.

My current 2005 Silverado just turned over 220k. Hoping to get 300k out of it.
Bought it from my father in law 8 years ago at 80,000 miles for 12k.
    Best deal ever….

There’s at least two 4.7 Tundras that have hit the 1,000,000 mile mark.

Currently my ’08 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi that I bought new has 213,964 miles. I’ll replace it sometime in the next year or two only because it looks like a 13 year old truck.

I had a 93 chevy 3/4 ton with 457,000 on it when I sold it. I replaced the clutch on it 2 times between 170,000 and when I sold it. It had a 3 speed with granny gear.

My daily driver has 396000 replaced tranny at 250 or so and transfer case a few thoud\sand later looks like a 2004 chev that has more rust than plastic. My dog is copilot and occasional navigator. I had a toyota that turned 360 before the frame rusted out. I have a soft spot for beater trucks that haul wood or the furniture of a friend. Mine doesn’t owe me any money.

Had a 96 chevy 1500 that I did the mechanical work in our shop years ago. It was well north of 600k and still had original 350 in it. A couple trannys, radiators, fuel pumps, etc. Only thing on the engine was intake gasket leak.
The guy was not great on maintenance either.

Why don’t REAL trucks count?? whistling

A kid at work drives an 02 dirty max that’s just short of a half a million right now lol

I know there’s plenty of diesels out there over a million, some even over three million, but that’s the highest mileage truck I personally know of.

I have two 2005 GMC 1/2 ton trucks with 5.3s.
One has 279xxx, the other has 210,xxx. Both engines still run strong. The trucks are going to rust away before the engines die.

Lol. So true but I think everyone would agree those diesels can last a looooooooooong time! It would be interesting to hear though I guess…

It’s just great to hear about some great long lasting motors out there. Growing up, people tended to pass on vehicles over 100k, some now are just breaking in by then!

The vehicles I drove usually cost less than $1000 so needless to say I never had them more than a few years. Many of them had more than 200k miles

My current tundra only has 4k miles on it. I bought it with the intention of keeping it 20-30 years. I’m hoping for 300k+

Aside from the tundras 5.7 motor my favorite truck engine I ever owned was the hemi in my 06 Durango

I know of a 1997 K1500 Z71 5.7 with 385K on it and the body is pretty darn nice too. The guy said all he has done is the EFI system once and 3 intake gaskets, and exhaust a couple times. Original transmission and transfer case. He has never even put a ball in the receiver, however. It has been to the body shop for rust removal twice now and he put a new seat in it because the old one just wore out. I would guess the fella goes a bit over 300 pounds and is about 6’8″ tall. He drives it 98 miles round trip for work every day. He bought it new the day after Christmas in 1996

    Had a 2010 Silverado 1500 with the 6.2 L9H with 6L80E transmission. traded it in at 254,000.

I purchased it in 2014 at 120,000 miles. Between 120 and 254 I replaced the following: 1 Oil pressure sensor, 1 set of O2 sensors and 3 evap canisters. They gave me $5500 for it on a trade-in. I would buy another one of these rigs in a heartbeat it was an absolute blast to drive and pull with and gave me no trouble at all.

My 2016 L83 has been a fine engine, but it’s a dog so I’ve thrown more at it in terms of upgrades than I care to discuss. And it’s quicker and pulls better, but I just think what If I had done these simple upgrades to that L9H and it makes me sad I don’t have it anymore.

’08 F150 5.4 triton had about 205k on it when I traded it in a few months ago and it was still running strong. I heard a lot of bad things about that motor but it treated me well.

05 GMC Yukon, 185,000; has required zero engine or drivetrain work since I bought it 8 years ago with 76,000 on it. It’s rusty but reliable.

19 F150 Lariat 5.0; 13,250 miles. I plan to drive this one until it falls apart.

    08 gmc 6.2l 250k.

Starting to burn coolant a lil and leak oil pretty good. Quart and half every oil change. Shocks need replacing, power steering needs changing, love the truck but not sure if worth to fix. Absolutely hate car payments, be nice to just fix er up since it’s not the daily driver anymore. Not sure if it’s worth it, got to run the #’s!!
