Good morning everyone! Just looking for some suggestions on where people would go for a 3 night fishing trip in the next couple weeks. We are based out of the Alexandria area and want to do a little get away from the 17-20th this month. We have a ice castle to stay in, just trying to figure out where to tow it too. Want to keep it about 3 to 4 hours away. Also want to catch some eyes and be able to keep them as well. Thought we have had were Upper Red Lake, Leech lake, Lake Winnibigoshish, or possibly Waubay/Bitter in SD. Only thing we don’t like about that is having to buy the out of state license.

If anyone can give some opinions, or other options you would suggest that would be great. Thanks guys!

Some pretty good options between you and the Detroit lakes area.

I go on mn dnr lake finder look for lakes with good eye net counts. For example Otter tail county big pine lake has good# for eye’s water clarity is 5′ for a good all day bite would call local bait shops for ice report’s lake my have a slot limit you would have to check
    Hope it helps

If I was in Alex I would head over to SD fish Sisseton or Webster area. Eyes ,perch ,crappies and gills. Out of state tag would be worth 3 full days of fishing.
