Long Sault Rapids

Can you launch at Birchdale and make through the long Sault Rapids to get up to the manitou Rapids successfully in a deep V boat?

Lol. It can be done… But that depends on how much your willing to risk doing it.

I’m probably try it but doubt I’ll have the balls to go the distance.

Did that in someone else’s boat a few years ago. Pretty sure we dinged up a prop pretty good and that was with 3 people all watching and trying to nav through the boulders.

My fear, destroy prop and then you flying down current smashing into everything!

It’s a neat stretch of river though

There is a a channel that runs through them. My first time going up them I guided a buddy up and he said he never saw anything under 12′ but a couple feet of away would of made for a bad day. If you are confident on reading water go. If not I wouldn’t try it.
