If I’m understanding you correctly, you want to find a spot on Google Earth and transfer the point into a waypoint on your Elite 5.

There are a couple of ways that I know of to do this and there may be more.

I’m not sure about changing coordinate systems on the Elite 5, but you can go into Google Earth and change the coordinate system of your view. Change the coordinate system on Google Earth to match the one on your Elite 5 and then you’ll be able to take a spot from Google Earth and enter it as a waypoint on your Elite 5.

Another option is to run the coordinates from Google Earth through the converter on this site to change them into the coordinate system you need: http://www.earthpoint.us/Convert.aspx

    Hope it helps.

Go to GPS Setup on your Elite 5, select Coordinate System, select your desired coordinates, press enter, exit.

Your example on your elite 5 coordinates is degrees, minutes and thousands of a minute. What you want to enter is degrees, minute and seconds. They must match.

Not sure on the elite 5, you might try online at Lowrance.com under support to look at the operators manual, if you don’t have one. From my HDS 8 manual, press MENU twice to get to SETTINGS, select SYSTEM, select COORD SYSTEM, highlight desired option (degrees, degrees/minutes, deg/min/sec) and press enter.

    From my LMS 525 manual:
    Coordinate System Selection
The Coordinate System Menu lets you select the coordinate system to
use when displaying and entering position coordinates.
    Menus for changing coordinate syst
    em used to display positions.
To get to Coordinate System Selection

    and tenths of a second (36° 28′ 40.9″).
