In Oregon random fare checks by police were ruled unconstitutional in 2018. Also since 2018 fare evasion has been decriminalized if the citation issued by TriMet is resolved within 90 days.

Yup was thinking the same just now as i looked through the general page and other than the Wild thread the top 7 threads are all about politics.
Portland has been a mess for a long long time. I’m not overly political I stand on both sides of arguments. But this is a very liberal city and looks to be run directly in to the ground.

are profoundly simple and true statements. Its happening all around us.
My two most progressive liberal friends moved out of portland and back to mpls, then promptly out of mpls due to the violence they faced in their own front yard in the summer of 2020. My point is, there is no point. No matter your views just continue to make the moves that are correct for you and your loved ones. That’s about all we can do.

I saw on the tube this morning the government is calling up 700 troops to help with the rolling truck protest thats headed towards Washington. To work traffic control.
My sister is going to school at Reed College in Portland, and while definitely more liberal than I am, she is ready to get the HE-WILL out of there.
Walleye/pike inland lakes closed, no hunting open, except maybe turkey. Snow still hanging around or falling and thawing all the while. Wet, cold and miserable half the time, still not quite warm. I’m one of the fortunate(river fisherman 
) and I still get antsy. Plus not everyone fishes the rivers/late-ice

Yet when the cities were actually on fire and they were tearing it down.. it was a peaceful protest, pretty clear if we don’t agree with there agenda were racist and need to be silenced.
All these minor hand wringings will pale in comparison if there is expanded aggression by Russia in Europe.
