With the warmer weather, already slushy and flooded lakes, where are you going to fish this weekend? Plenty of forecasted rain or snow Saturday/Sunday depending on where you’re at just to keep things interesting..

I would stay away from anyplace Up North. North of Brainerd is forecasting 9-12″ of heavy snow and Ice. Wind gust of 40mph. Then again the weather terrorist are normally wrong by about 50%. Then again even 4.5-6″ of snow and ice and 20MPH wind gust does not seem fun. At this rate its going to be one of those ugly ice fishing season.

We are at the cabin in northern WI and the ice is less than ideal, it needs a couple weeks of cold to salvage the season without any snow. The big snow sunk and flooded everything leaving about 2″ of ice, 8″ slush, then 1.5″ of frozen slush on top. Right now there is no snow and some cold would make it a lot better. We are walking out now and checking along the way but 1 good hit and the spud goes through.
