The pic below was taken today and is the norm for all Woodbury parks. To the right is a natural mature forest floor. The the left is what they do to ALL acquired park land in Woodbury consisting of a mature forest. They thrash and grind everything. No underbrush left. And it doesn’t come back. At least not in 3 years as shown by the oldest example. Does anyone know what their goal is when destroying all that habitat? Its not for trails. They already exist. I see so much lost natural habitat including hundreds of different plants and the animals that depend on them. The city wouldnt respond to my questions a year ago.
I just want to know why they do it. No more goose berrys. No more jack in the pulpit. No more morels. No more anything for a loooong time.

Buckthorn eradication? my son’s Boy Scout Troop cleared a local wildlife area in that way to get rid of the invasive…just a possibility. After mechanical clearing, there is an extended Round-Up treatment for good measure.

We had a nice little path through a small wooded area here in Lakeville the wife and I would walk a lot to see the numerous woodland wildflowers.
City came through and widened and “improved” the path and in the process
all of the wildflowers were destroyed never to be seen again.
Now there is no reason to use this “improved” path any more.

People who would complain of possible poison ivy is 10x that who appreciate the natural state. My guess
