I belong to the NRA like all sportsmen should. I get a nice monthly magazine and hopefully some representation.

Are there alternatives to the NRA that focus more on the hunter?

I cannot speak for Gunowners of America, but I will second the NRA angle as a former member. If they utilized their funds and energy towards something other than the junk mail and calls to someone who already was pro 2nd amendment, they’d have something.

I belong to SCI and I think they do an excellent job of lobbying for the interests of hunters, which includes lobbying on gun issues that theysee as relevant to hunters.

BTW, some might think that SCI is only for big game hunters with an interest in international hunting. Strictly not true, plenty of SCI members only hunt in the US or in North America. A terrific organization.

I will also join DSC this year because they are another fine organization and they have a terrific annual convention. When, of course, we can get back to going to annual conventions.,,

    NRA wines and dines.

Firearms Policy Coalition gets work done in the courts.
GOA gets it done at the state level as well (see Virginia for instance.)

NRA won’t get another dime from me until Wayne, his $3000 suits, and his mistress have hit the road.

I will not ever be apart of the nra again. They took enough from me.

Amen. I think my dollar is better spent with conservation programs such as DU, PF, QF,RGS and AWS. Those organizations actually get tangible assets/results such as new public land to hunt. Plus you don’t have to deal with the fear mongering like the libs are coming for all your guns. As a sportsman, I am much more concerned with habitat, conservation and access to public lands than I am losing my gun rights.
