LMS 480 m GPS module not responding

Hi, New here.

Yesterday I noticed the zoom keys were working on the sonar instead of the chart. I must have hit a button or two accidentally. Tried to fix it but eventually decided to do a HARD reset IN + OUT + POWER + hold. Unit now switches on OK and sonar works fine, only thing is message “GPS module not responding”.

My pal has HDS 5 so plugged mine into his plugs and still get message “GPS module not responding”.

Suggests it is my unit at fault as opposed to my antenna or antenna installation.

Any tricks I can try before sending it away for repair or looking for replacement unit.

Just realised my pals HDS 5 will have an internal GPS module so there is no wonder I got a message saying GPS module not responding when I plugged mine in, there is no module there to respond!.

Most likely this will be a wiring issue as I have the unit on a hinged door which enables it to be stored safely inside then swung into the cockpit when in use. Perhaps one of the cables has broken.
