Livescope bundle…. Build or Buy as a Unit

To all of those Livescope Owners…

Buy or build for a livescope unit.

I am looking at the LV 32 and it sounds like Scheels will be carrying a year round package this fall for the 32.

Is it worth trying to piece things together or should I just buy something all put together?

    Thanks in advance.

discussed at length in the Garmin section of IDO, build your own bundle…

Last year Scheels had their portable bundle with the 32 ducer for $1000 off with the Lithium Battery. Not sure if they will do that again this year or not…but I took advantage of that deal and don’t have any complaints.

I would do the same. I have no desire to spend 6k bundling parts together.
We skipped the spendy poles and got a music sheet holder from a school demo job. Little fabrication and it blows the other poles away. To connect it to the boat we put a kids bike Frame holder on and it’s as solid as a rock at 6 mph. I think between the bike holder and pole we are in 50 bucks.

I pieced mine together this past winter. Bought what I could used and some of it was new. Bearcat do you have a picture of your homemade boat transducer setup? I have the summit pole I bought used and its good for ice fishing but not the most sturdy setup in the boat

He is some pics of the music holder, I’ll take better ones at home. It adjusts from 15 inch to 6 ft. Took very little fabrication to make work and is better and stronger then any pokes I have seen

I bought the bundle in spring of 2020 and don’t regret it. Easy to use fishing and then bring in the boat. I have different poles for each.

The battery and pole are the drawbacks of getting the Garmin bundle…they are basically a waste of money as much better (and lighter) options are available if purchased separately…I actually like the Garmin bag and shuttle as it offers the best combo of utility and protection imo and it fits inside an Otter ATV Monster box because it’s not as tall as say a Summit bag and shuttle…

I think the Summit Pole systems is the best bang for the buck and it’s easily adaptable from Summer to Winter fishing…The only drawback is it struggles to stay upright trolling more than 2 mph…

again, tons of Livescope info in the Garmin category under the Toys for Big Boys section…

I think it really depends on what you want out of the bundle.

I was not a fan of the Garmin bundle primarily due to the pole.

I bought a bundle from Reeds (that they put together with a lithium battery, aluminum shuttle & a Summit pole system) that was cheaper than me buying it separately … no regrets at all.

The Pole and Battery are the 2 most important pieces of the bundle outside of the screen and ducer. If you split out the Garmin bundle price piece by piece, they are valueing both for $400+…you can get much better pieces from Amped Outdoors and Summit for $300-$400

of course sale prices can tilt the scales one side or the other, just know you’ll for sure want to replace the stock Garmin pole system immediately…

if you can catch the BPS/Cabelas sales and get lucky with working coupon codes, you can get a 106sv for around $800, you can also sell the included GT54 transducer on CL/FBMP to offset the price even more…

I have the whole bundle from Reeds for sale in the Classifieds section. Feel free to make me an offer on that. I also have the pole for the ice transducer that may not be pictured, I’ll update the post. The only thing not included is the garmin unit and transducer.

Quick update I found Garmin Ice Fishing Bundle on Facebook I am going to buy. I will upgrade the pole and shuttle over time but this was a fair price I think at $1900. I think the person won it at a raffle and didn’t want it. Thanks for all the feedback.
