Lessen learned – when its -15 degrees don’t leave your livescope down too long in an 8″ hole. I always drill my house holes at 10″ but I am currently on Red and fished 3hrs in my heated hub house and I had to chisle to get my scope out of my 8″ Lite Flite hole. Its too bad the transducer wasn’t smaller.

How’s the fishing up on the grand old lake that owes us nothing?

It’s cold and still making ice – Drilled the house holes yestetday around 6pm with a 10″ Jiffy with a 12″ extension and the auger handles were touching the floor of the house. Going to have to either pre-drill or add another extension very soon.
Sadly my holes closed up to around 7-8″ dia already on the first 8-12″ of water because the sides are closing in which will either force me to redrill or move the shack later today.

I had a buddy have this happen to him a month ago. Went to bed and woke up to the holes closing in. He now keeps a Milwaukee fan blowing on whichever hole he has that ducer in.

I take mine out when I go to bed. The fan for sure works. Keep meaning to pick up some small battery operated ones to put at each hole.

I don’t believe he had intended on sleeping with the pole still in the water. The 21 empty cans he had on the counter the next morning were the culprits.

Well, we have all been there. 21 is pretty impressive though!
