    Is the ban still on? Can a guy use crappie minnows for perch in the reeds?

    Only if you are standing on the shore or a dock. (Suppose you could be sitting or lying down too) lol

    From the DNR website;

    “Live bait OK from shore
    Anglers fishing from shore, dock or pier may use live bait during daylight hours through Thursday, Nov. 30. The live bait restriction remains in place for anglers in watercraft except those fishing for muskellunge and northern pike using sucker minnows longer than 8 inches.”

    … and if you use 8″ or larger minnows you must be targeting northerns or muskies.

    I am wondering the same thing regarding other Walleye related tactics. Are pulling spinners out of question?

    This is pretty simple. You can’t use live bait. You can’t intentionally target walleye.

    I would also assume that live bait that is now dead is not allowed either.

    If you are fishing an area using artificial bait and only catching walleye, you should move.

    Good luck!

    What perch? The population is now so small its nearly impossible to target.

    Yes Oldstar…seems just you and I are the only ones that recognize that or even care! Just think how many walleyes you could catch while truly trying to catch some big perch? And take a look at this from DNR website and tell me what’s wrong with this picture?

    Yellow Perch State angler total: 3,208 of 135,000 allowed lbs. (6,519 fish)

    Walleye State angler total: 53,166 of 44,800 allowed lbs. (20,068 fish)

    So state anglers have harvested 3,200 pounds of perch out of 135,000 pounds allowed?? Are there even that many left in the lake?? It almost seems to me they should close the lake to perch fishing!
