Looking to upgrade my fish finder. I’ve always had vexilar and like them a lot. Originally I was going to pick up the FLX-28 but the Marcum Lx7 has been catching my eye for some time now. I’ve never used a digital fish finder ice fishing just wondering if people would take it over the FLX-28 or what are the pros and cons that people have that use the units. Thank you

You can ask 100 different people and get 100 different answers. They both do the job. With a lx6,7,9 you have a lot more ways to view below the ice. I personally change my view settings on my lx7 depending on the type of fishing I am doing. Sometimes graph and vertical zoom, some times flasher with vertical zoom etc etc. the best pet of the lx6,7,9 is all or options you can fish. I’ve talked to guys who have the fl28 and they love them, but once I show all the different things you can do with a marcum they are very surprised. Best case scenario find some one who has a lx6,7,9 and some one who has a FL28 and fish with both separately and see which one you like.

The question might be this: what more do you want/need from a unit that your current one don’t do?

Buy both, I have both… but i use my flx28 more. That’s just me. Wonder if the pro staff can pin a post like this to a FAQ as it comes up often.
