Little fella, big appetite….

This little guy hit my 2″ paddletail yesterday morning in spite of higher water levels and murky looking chocolate water. Lots of small debris in the water too. I hit up a shore spot for an hour of fresh air thinking that there may be remnants of last Friday’s real good bite but it was not to be. On Friday a pearl firetail bait was all the fish would touch. Yesterday it was right back to the purple/chartreuse tail baits and after digging thru maybe six color changes and that many bait shape changes this 9 1/2″ crappie smacked this paddletail….must been hungry.

Down here too. Yeah, just looking for an excuse to post my picture.

They seemed to be moving in last week to spawn, but backed off over the weekend. I’m hoping to give it a go tomorrow after a few warm days.

I was out again this morning and had similar luck with just two caught. This sunshine we’re having will help a lot as far as settling things down. Thursday they are calling for another inch of rain and we really don’t need any. Such is life….

I’ll take the rain down here. If this keeps up I’ll be fishing by hand in the mud.
