Wait you can’t leave your lithiums in your boat go to freeze ? Say it dips into the teens ? I understand you can’t charge them under 20 degrees but storage you gotta yank em every time ? That’s incredibly annoying if you want to fish any warm spells on the river . Last year was great for that.

No, I don’t think so. Most manufacturers say storage down to -4 in their specs and, personally, I think that is more a result of that being the tested value more than the “real” value as concrete info on the harm of being stored in lower temps is pretty hard to find.

Also it’s that you can’t charge them below 32. I think the better minimum to charge at is around 41 and that’s what self heating ones heat themselves too before allowing charging.

edit: Litime specifically says 14 for minimum storage. -4 is what I saw many other manufactures say when I was looking for mine. Trojan is the only one I’ve seen that says -40

Thank you for response re: LiTime battery. I ordered the 24v 100Ah
    2 questions:
    1) were you able to find a battery tray/box that fits?
    2) How about a battery “heater” for cool weather charging

    Thank you

For cool weather charging i use a small heated blanket and wrap the batteries until they are warm enough and then I charge them. I’ve done this since I got the boat and used it between ice off rainy and cold season p2 fishing. Haven’t had a problem yet. I wouldn’t leave the heated blanket or pad unattended for long periods of time while plugged in.

Heated battery blankets have been around for decades and should be available from most parts stores. Available in different sizes.
