All sorts of opinions, search the forum using battery or lithium. This has been hashed out more than a few times.

Goals of use? 1 day in between charging or 1 week?

Lots of factors involved. How heavy of a batter do you want, How much are you willing to spend, How much run time between charges are you after, How often are you using the trolling motor. If you can afford it and weight is not a factor why not go Lithium.

I’m running litime lithium batteries. Ran them since the real early spring and they have been fantastic. I run 2 100ah 12v in order to make 24v. I had over 36 hours of river fishing on them and still had 30 percent charge. Makes me a happy camper knowing I can go long weekend with no charger.
