Will they jump start a 4-wheeler if need be, or are they not good at boosting? also want it to run a winch and sonar. Maybe dumb questions but not a techie guru and these are the things I need it to do. And where can I get the best value? Recommend a certain brand? thank You very much. Don

It’s my understanding that Lithium batteries have special charging requirements, would they be properly charged to full capacity in a wheeler?

What about how they react to the cold. I have screwed up lithium drill batteries due to freezing.

good questions. Battery won’t be in a 4-weeler, will be used to jump-start the wheeler from sonar if need be. I am to old to risk anything not starting out on ice. Did not know about the cold. thanks. thanks for the link.

Why don’t you just pull start atv If battery is dead?

The compact jump packs that are in use now do it. Should be about the same. Someone out there must have a 9 amp lithium that they could try on there wheeler to get you an answer.

They don’t die from cold but they do perform worse. At least from what I’ve seen in tools and such.

OMG. I had an older Griz 660 and don’t know why they even had a pull start on it. You would have to be Hulk Hogan to pull it and have Arnold standing by as back-up.

My 550 Artic Cat does not have a rope pull start feature, electric start only.

I guess that’s one of the many reasons why I own a Honda. How stupid to not put a pull start on any machine . 675 rincon can easily be pull started with little effort.

I got a new Griz a couple years ago and the pull start was an option. With a new machine and EFI I don’t worry about it not starting.

Ropes are for dopes who don’t know how to maintain a simple battery. crazy devil jester (maybe you should tow a spare ATV if your that careless)

I pull started my prairie 650 years ago on low at -48, had to be careful at first. But better than walking 6 miles, would have probably died.

Never have encountered a dead battery. However the idiot is he whom is unprepared for any circumstance that may prevent itself. So in the case I did nave a issue it would not matter. I would not need to sit and wait like the fools without the option.

I agree, that’s why I bought a Griz with EFI and make sure it is running like a Rollex before I head out. I was a cub scout also.

I don’t have a pull cord on my car either.

Considering cold brings the worst out in everything except making ice I find it absurd to make someone think that a back up plan in case something fails is wrong or stupid. And as we get older we want to still follow are passion but limitations do catch up with us.

I agree, but where do you draw the line. If you doubt your rig will start, then you shouldn’t go out in the first place.

A few years back when I questioned the reliability of my ATV I dragged my Honda generator and battery charger out on LOW. And I needed it. That was my limitation, the next year I bought a new one. Actually at my wife’s request.

I love the new jump packs. They jump a car, have two 12 v power ports, a 400 watt DC to 120 ac inverter, a work light, and a mini air compressor. So far I’ve jumped a couple vehicles…none my own. I mostly use it to augment my fishfinder batteries and recharge my cell phone when camping on the ice for a weekend.
