    Hey Guys,

My name is Luke and I’m new to the forum. I am a forensic electrical engineering located in MN. I investigate electrical fires, with a specialty in lithium battery fires. I’ve looked at dozens of lithium battery fires causing millions of dollars of damage in the midwest alone.

I’ve seen failures like this with Milwaukee, Ryobi, DeWalt and many Chinese knock-offs.

I am working on putting together a data base of failures. If you guys could send me photos of the failed batteries with a synopsis of the what happened that would be greatly appreciated. In some cases I may be willing to purchase them from you! If you have questions please ask, stay safe!

The scary part is I mail ordered this from Home Depot with a string trimmer. These things are being shipped all over by carriers. Yes, I’m in MN.

TH, I have another fire with this exact combo kit in Milaca. Please if you could contact me it would be greatly appreciated!

Lucas, any tips to avoid a fire when charging cordless tool batteries?
