Lithium Batteries

Hey just a heads up if you are considering getting a lithium battery in the near future, you may want to do so soon sooner rather than later. For what I understand all of the American companies that sell lithium batteries, get them from China so they’ll likely be going up by 10% to match the tariffs. More importantly thought the USPS is now longer shipping anything from China or Hong Kong, so options are fewer and who knows if UPS and FedEx will be forced to do so as well.

Stand alone lithium batteries – The prices kept coming down the last few years and features improving. I hear what you are saying about the concern of tariffs but a 10% tariff could easily be offset by pricing trends.

I suppose I could look it up but what is the issue with shipping from China? I am not a expert but I would think that the bulk would be shipped by container which I would think is most cost effective. Now if we could keep shipping container cost down….

As of an hour ago USPS restored shipping from China…no explanation was given. Weird stuff is happening.

When it comes to any kind of part for any machine, better get it now.

A good friend of mine works in service parts supply chain for a major industrial equipment manufacturer. Like most US manufacturers, their equipment is made in USA, but of course with parts sourced from all over the world.

He just told me on Saturday that they had 3 price increases planned for 2025 because they were anticipating tariffs. The idea being not to shock customers with a large price increases overnight to cover the full tariff cost, but rather to ramp up to it over 3 quarters.

As of last week they were told by finance to implement 4 price increases totalling a greater percentage. Foreign suppliers are rapidly increasing prices, most believe their theory is that they can sneak in a price increase because Americans will blame it on tariffs.

Here we go… Buy now if you know you need it.
