For the people who have used a drill with the Lite Flite, do you have the side handle on your drill or have you drilled holes without the side handle?

I went with out a handle till now. Now I run a clam plate.
As much as I like the clam plate ill probably go back to regular with a handle. When running with out a handle I use my leg as a brace so it doesn’t jerk my wrist

Side handle made it much easier for me. I ran the lazer hand auger tho, really needed to lean into er to cut.

Your blades are dull or off pitch if you need to lean into it to cut.

However, a guy needs to brace for impact when lazer blades break through the bottom of the ice with a drill lol

Good to know. Thought something was off, but only used the thing a few times so now sure where it would get off.

I use a clam plate with 8 inch lite flite. Cuts like crazy. Faster than my brothers drill and 6 inch lazer.

I keep forgetting to put the side handle on my 8″ Lite Flite. It’s really not difficult to handle without it, but I’m sure it’s safer to use the handle.

Not having to use the side handle is a testimony on how smooth the combo cuts, but PSA, I don’t condone the activity.

*going to put the side handle on the counter now so I don’t forget it tomorrow.*

Always the handle for this guy. May not be necessary but easier to control.

Yes i would agree with b man. Never leaned in to a lazer nor my new light flight at all. Probably have 600 holes on the year. Never leaned once. My lazer was actually smoother

Handle for me and my 6” Lite Flite but when your as short as me and the extra height of the bit the handle is a must IMO. When I used my Kdrill I could do it without the handle. It’s definitely shorter.

I usually use the hammer drill handle on mine (8in lite flite), although it there isnt a lot of ice I can go without fairly easy
