I’ve been holding out hoping they would bring back the $20 off $50 purchase they offered a month or so ago that I cashed in on, looks like that won’t happen…
StanleyPosts: 1100May 8, 2017 at 10:19 am #1692852The St. Cloud store is closing. I was in there Saturday and everything was 10-20% off except guns and ammo. I left with nothing just like most of the people I saw leaving the store, but the parking lot was as full as I have ever seen in a long time.
May 8, 2017 at 10:29 am #1692853If they did this every week, they wouldn’t have gone out of business.
I like going through at the end when everything is 60-75% off. You won’t find popular items, but you’ll find a lot of nice to haves like maybe line cutters or whatever.
I did this when United went out of business and got a 100% rabbit hat for cheap. And I tell you what, I got my moneys worth out of it ice fishing, snow shoveling or anytime I had to be outside in the extreme cold.
May 8, 2017 at 10:36 am #1692855they ALL are closing… some will be re-branded and re-opened from what I have read.

Not necessarily, the email I got from them yesterday the title stated “Liquidation Prices! Preparing for the NEW Gander Mountain”
That tells me they may be keeping the name

This is from the Camping World CEO twitter page. They are planning on keeping 70 Stores open. Only Forrest Lake and Lakeville for Minnesota.
May 8, 2017 at 11:28 am #1692874This story just posted on Pioneer Press website:
New owner of Gander Mountain plans to keep at least 70 stores open, despite what company’s website says
Gander Mountain Company announced Friday, March 10, 2017 that, to maximize the opportunity to achieve a going-concern sale of its business, it and certain of its subsidiaries have filed voluntary petitions for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. The new owner of Gander Mountain says he plans to keep at least 70 stores open, despite a banner on the company’s website announcing that all of its locations are going out of business.
Marcus Lemonis, who bought the St. Paul-based outdoors retailer out of bankruptcy in April, posted a video on Twitter on Sunday morning to correct news reports that the chain was closing all its stores.
Most of those reports appeared to be based on a banner on GanderMountain.com that said “All 126 locations nationwide going out of business!” (Gander Mountain actually operates 162 stores in the U.S.)
“It is my estimation that we are going to probably end up having around 70 — maybe 75 — stores,” Lemonis said in the four-and-a-half-minute video. “Our goal is to see the business survive and thrive, and take care of the people who work there.”

While Lemonis’ company Camping World bought the Gander Mountain brand and the leases on the company’s stores in a bankruptcy auction April 28, a separate group of investors bought the retail chain’s existing inventory with plans to liquidate it. Lemonis tweeted that the liquidators have control of the company’s website until May 18.
The liquidators have exclusive the use of the website till may 18. https://t.co/QtCt60Nrnb

Lemonis also said in the video that his goal is to keep the company’s headquarters in St. Paul, but he added that will depend on the cost of rent at the 180 E. 5th building in Lowertown. GanderMountain.com will operate out of Greenville, N.C.
Lemonis tweeted that he is in the process of deciding which stores will remain open after the liquidation is complete, adding that this will depend on each location’s profitability and the terms of its lease.
“I will not be picking stores that do not have a clear path to profitability,” he said in the video.
Among the stores he plans to keep open are those in Lakeville and Forest Lake in Minnesota; Wausau, Franklin, Kenosha, DeForest and Onalaska in Wisconsin; and Fargo, N.D., according to his tweets.
Lemonis said he expects to release the locations of more stores that will remain open Monday.
Employees at stores that close will have an opportunity to interview at a nearby Camping World location.
For @GanderMtn stores that don’t stay open, each employee will be given chance to interview at a @CampingWorld store if there is one nearby

Gander Mountain announced in March that it would be closing stores in Woodbury, Rogers and Mankato.May 8, 2017 at 12:04 pm #1692889just got back as I had $30 in Gander credit to burn before they stop accepting it next week, gal at counter said yesterday they were told not to accept any gander gift cards, today they were told they could…so I would use them asap if you are holding onto them….10-15% off is a joke though as pretty much every week for the past several years they offered that on their mailing list…glad to be done with that store…
May 8, 2017 at 1:09 pm #1692905This whole situation is a dumpster fire. The current Gander Mountain continues to put out emails, info, etc that contradicts the new owner. It’s like the current corporate is p!ssed and is trying to give the new owner as rough a time as possible.
I’m really glad I burned up all my gift cards back in December when this was all only a rumor.

May 8, 2017 at 1:13 pm #1692908Stopped at the Blaine store and picked up some marine sealant I needed. Looking around I only saw 10 to 15% off with firearms and ammo excluded. Some guy was trying to dispute a price listed on a reel. The cashier said she would like to give it to him for the price but has to go by how it is ringing up and is not able to change the price. I wouldn’t go expecting good prices. At least not yet.
Reef WPosts: 2818May 8, 2017 at 1:24 pm #1692918I stopped by the Eden Prairie one today and there aren’t really any deals that I saw. Fishing stuff was 15% off but it’s also 25% more than Cabela’s to begin with

I don’t get it either. I was recently shopping for 2 new seats & bases and Gander was almost the most expensive option even with the sale; couldn’t even touch Sportsman’s Guide in this case.
May 8, 2017 at 1:54 pm #1692925I’m kinda sad my wife is on maternity leave…It was nice hearing about all the drama at the HQ…
CharlesPosts: 1978May 8, 2017 at 2:02 pm #1692929Come on new depth finder! I have to talk to my wife’s cousin lol.
Surprise to see only two Minnesota stores to make it.
May 8, 2017 at 2:57 pm #1692947I haven’t stopped in the Mankato location, but it seems like each time I drive by it over the past month the sign out front reads “up to xx% off” and gets increased by about 5-10% each week or two. On Saturday it read up to 50% off. Heard from somebody that went there to a buy a Ram Mount at 25% off a few weeks ago, but still found it on Amazon for significantly less.
May 8, 2017 at 3:35 pm #1692955I just swung thru the EP store on my lunch, and really the only good deals are on Gander brand stuff. Most of their clothes were marked down, with 20-30% off the mark down price.
May 8, 2017 at 5:06 pm #1692973So is camping world going to rebrand it as another outdoors retailer?

Same with Forest Lake.
