I read an article this morning that stated the Fargo location will be staying open, despite the signs the store had hung. I do not use Twitter, but Marcus Lemonis, the new CEO, is squashing closing rumors on certain stores via his Twitter page.

Eau Claire. They had a nice building right in the middle of the shopping district and mall. So they sell that off and build 3 miles away in a field on the other side of the hi way far from any other retail, traffic routes or anything else really. Made sense to me ??????…..

Don’t want to sound like a smart ars, but aren’t all Gander stores closing? Then some reopen under a new name? The Gander name is done, right? New stores will be a lot different I would have to assume. Why keep doing the same thing that already failed?

Rogers is closing. Their sign says “Up to 50% Off Everything in the Store”. But there’s more stuff on the shelves and racks than ever before. Only good discounts are on crappy product. I won’t be bummed when this store is gone for good.

Oh, and if you need some ice fishing lures, they’ve got a lot. Their going out of business clearance still has higher prices than Cabelas season ending clearance.

What a mess so its sounds like most stores are closing but Marcus is reporting other wise, it is turning into a big cluster F. I am curious why all these gander mountains are having close sales if there not closing, miss management or something?

I’ll assume all of the Ganders are operating under the same rules, but…. ALL SALES FINAL. No returns even if the product is broke. (They make you deal with the manufacturer) Make sure that shoe fits before you leave the store. What a racket!

Yesterday the Lakeville Fleet Farm didn’t have the part I needed for my transducer. So I went to Gander Mtn across 35. At the checkout I saw a sign that said all sales final and no returns.

Forest lake had a banner up Thursday afternoon. i thought the forest lake one was staying open. Oh well, they looked more like an Under Armour store than a hunting and fishing store.

Stopped into Eden Prairie this morning, 10-30% off everything. Fishing was 15%, clothes and shoes were 20-30%. Nothing too spectacular. Didn’t pick anything up myself.

Liquidators bought all the inventory and are selling it. New owner didn’t buy inventory. He bought intellectual property, businesses, Overtons, and the store leases.

New owner is going to reopen stores that are profiltable with new leases. He is able to renegotiate leases due bankruptcy proceedings. Only stores that has their retail spaces leases renegotiated will reopen with a new business model with new vendors and contracts.

Sounds about right, things have changed. I drove by the Lake Mary store and have 30% off going out of business signs up. Nothing I had read or seen up to that point said it was closing.

I wonder if they’ll reopen there.

Was just at the Lakeville store.
    10% to 30% off.
fyi – most of the good stuff is 10%. the junk is 30%.
and some items were not even marked down.

That’s what I figured. A going out of business sale always sounds enticing, but it seems like you have to get lucky to get a deal on something good. You basically have to hold out for the high price items as they’ll go last. And even then you have to get them before everyone else.

I mean 10-30% is just a regular sale.

Exactly! Look at the shiny objects!

I am a little disappointed. We have a lot of sign spinners down here, but Ganders signs were just propped up on poles.

I was also at the Lakeville store on Saturday. Everything was on sale at 10% off, even if it wasn’t marked as such. Other things were higher, as you said, low moving items. Fishing tackle was 15%. Depth finders were 10% off list.

I only picked up what I needed, line, sinkers, and swivels, at the time, but plan to return after the discount increases.

Saw people leaving with some rather expensive bills, $500+. I don’t know why people think 10% off list is such a good deal. I’ll wait for a better price.

There may have been some room to haggle on more expensive items. Not that I did, but I overheard a conversation with a sales rep. Just saying.

There is more stuff on my list to buy before opener. I’ll be back later this week. )
