I love 832, but what are your favorite kinds of mono and florocarbon for spinning gear in cooler conditions?

On all my winter reels used on pool 4 I use Fireline crystal 4lb-6lb line.

I concentrate more on the rod and the guides on that rod than line used.

I built myself a MLF winter rod that shines well above any rod I have ever used during the winter months.

The fireline Crystal doesn’t hold water and freeze eyelets and the spool up?

I like 6# sensation and 6# crystal. Trumar do you tie direct with crystal on pool 4?

Depends…if the temps are right around 32F then it can be terrible when line guides freezes and spool freezes.

You guys use some pretty light stuff. Are Walleye considered line shy?

Pool 4 is considered stained water for the most part !

I guess both, mostly looking for stronger line, doesn’t turn to wire in the cold, holds less water, mostly concerned about below freezing weather I am in a boat or on the ice.

I use 4# for a lot of trout fishing and it’s just fine.

I use 10# 832,floro leader. I tried the promix on a bobber rod and my slip knots frayed it. Wasn’t excited to see that.

Has Berkley Sensation been discontinued? I noticed that it’s no longer available at Mills Fleet Farm. I’d like some high vis mono and am considering Trilene XT Solar.
